Spectacle Lake is located about 15 miles northwest of Tonasket off U.S. 97 near Loomis, along Loomis-Oroville Road.
Spectacle Lake is a 396 acre storage reservoir in the Whitestone Coulee Unit of the Okanogan-Similkameen Division of the Chief Joseph Dam Project. The 396 water-surface acres of Spectacle Lake is located near Tonasket, Washington.
Fish species include rainbow trout. The lake is managed as a trout fishery and possession of other species is prohibited. Fishing season runs from mid-April to Oct. 1.
The average depth of the milfoil infestation was at 10 ft at full pool.
At that time there was approximately 79 acres of infested Reservoir, at an average of 10 ft. which translates to 790 acre ft. of necessary treatment.
The Spectacle Lake Association
has contracted Lakeland Restoration Services, LLC to perform an herbicide treatment to control Aquatic Eurasian Watermilfoil on Spectacle Lake with the Washington Department of Natural Resources
providing two of the herbicides,the first treatment will occur June 12 through June 14, 2014Lakeland Restoration Services has recommended a 3 year treatment plan to greatly reduce the Eurasian watermilfoil.
No water Restriction in place.
