Eurasian Watermilfoil Treatment Experience

Eurasian watermilfoil (EWM) has become a nuisance in many lakes throughout the Pacific Northwest. In fact, it is the most invasive plant we have in Northwest waterways. This noxious weed can clog lakes and rivers and cause damage to native plants. Thick mats of EWM can slow water flow, warm the water, squeeze oxygen out, and in turn make the water environment conditions hard on fish, native plants and other wildlife. EWM is also a major nuisance on recreation and a safety risk. The thick vegetation will get tangled on anything that goes through it.

Lakeland Restoration has worked hard to stop the spread of this noxious weed. Lakeland has performed over 90 treatments for Eurasian watermilfoil on lakes in Idaho and Washington alone. A map of the lakes we have treated for EWM in Idaho and Washington is shown below.
